Considered, never fast
Small drops, natural fibres, ateliers we know by name — because your wardrobe deserves patience.
The House of Chérie
A Paris-born boutique for women who dress with intention. This is our story, our ateliers, and the hands behind every piece.
Manifesto
"We started Chérie because we couldn't find the clothes we wanted to live in — quiet, well-made, honest with their materials. So we built a small house to make them, one piece at a time."
— Amélie Rousseau, Founder
What we stand for
01
Small drops, natural fibres, ateliers we know by name — because your wardrobe deserves patience.
02
Every piece passes through the hands of a maker: cut, stitched, embroidered, finished with intention.
03
Certified organic linens, low-impact dyes, plastic-free packaging — and pieces built to last a decade.
04
Living wages, safe workshops, long-term partnerships with our ateliers in Portugal and Jaipur.
The ateliers
We work with three ateliers — one in Porto for linen and cotton, one in Jaipur for embroidery and block-print, and one in the Loire valley for our silks. We visit each of them, in person, twice a year.
The Chérie story
2014
Chérie opens as a two-person atelier in the 6th arrondissement.
2017
A decade-long partnership begins with a family-run embroidery house.
2020
We drop seasons in favour of considered, four-times-a-year drops.
2023
Our linens and cottons are all GOTS-certified from field to finish.
2026
A digital home for the women who wear Chérie around the world.
